Make theatre happen — on stage, backstage, or front of house.

SCHUYPAC runs on neighbours. From sewing costumes to building sets to handing out programmes, every show takes a village. There's a part for you.

Why volunteer

More than just helping out.

Volunteering at SCHUYPAC is how Schuyler County stays connected — across generations, jobs, and walks of life. Many of our volunteers have been with us for decades. Some are here for one show. Both are welcome.

Common questions

Volunteer FAQ

Do I need experience to volunteer?
No. We train every volunteer from scratch. Most of our crew started with zero theatre experience — including our current technical director, who began as a teenage usher.
How much time will this take?
It's flexible. Front of House volunteers commit to one shift per show (about 4 hours). Cast and crew commit to roughly 8–12 weeks of evening rehearsals plus the run. You set what works for you.
Can high-school students volunteer?
Yes — and we'll sign off on service hours. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to co-sign the agreement.
Is there a cost to volunteer?
None. We provide training, materials, and meals during long build days. Volunteers also get free tickets to every show.
